OMNI Systems™ is excited to announce Mike Murton, MSM, currently the Director of Sales and Operations, will become the new President and COO, upon the June 30 retirement of current President and COO, Andy Macek. Adam DeFrancesco, who founded OMNI Systems, will continue in his role as CEO.

OMNI has been planning for this transition since shortly before Mike joined the company in 2019. Mike and Andy have worked closely together over the past three years, and we have every reason to expect a seamless transition.     Business is booming for OMNI Systems, which recently celebrated its 30^th anniversary. Now one of the country’s largest, privately-owned label converting businesses, the company is seeing over $100 million in sales, growing double digits per year. Since 1989, OMNI has had organic growth, so much growth to a point where a larger facility was required.

We're excited to announce that OMNI Systems has received a 2018 “Cleveland Technology Award” by Smart Business Magazine for the second consecutive year. We're one of several companies that will receive the award at this year’s Cleveland Tech Awards Luncheon on March 22, 2018. According to Smart Business, the Cleveland Technology Awards aim to recognize dynamic Northeast Ohio organizations that embrace the new horizon created by changing technologies. Honorees are recognized in one of three categories: established developers or tech firms, startup tech firms and implementers/users.

As we're working in a new year, we also like to reflect on our efforts in 2017. As a leading thermal label converter, we not only saw significant growth year over year, we achieved some of our most ambitious manufacturing goals and received additional recognition for growth, culture and innovation. We appreciate the impact that our customers, employees and greater industry has on our success.

With technology growing leaps and bounds in today’s age, manufacturing becomes more and more dependent on such technology for everyday tasks. As outlined in IndustryWeek, increased connectivity and the use of big data are driving waves of manufacturing innovation. Printing and converting are no strangers to this trend. But as manufacturing becomes more dependent on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), it also becomes more vulnerable. As we saw just last week, one typo in a service provider like Amazon’s AWS can bring down hundreds of connected services.
