At the start of 2024, OMNI launched a groundbreaking scrap diversion and energy conversion initiative that changed how high-volume label manufacturing handles waste. Previously, adhesive matrix scrap removal was a manual, time-consuming process. Today, thanks to automation with a central vacuum and baler system, OMNI removes and compresses scrap quickly and safely. As a result, we divert about 80 tons of scrap monthly—nearly 900 tons annually—from landfills.
Moreover, through a strategic partnership with Convergen Energy, OMNI converts compressed scrap into energy pellets—a cleaner alternative to coal. This approach reduces environmental impact and delivers measurable results:
- 10% increase in run speeds
- 25% less scrap waste
- 5% boost in production efficiency, saving about $500,000 in capital cost
- Safer operations and higher-value roles for team members
